PowerCleatz inventor takes them to the Brazilian Professional Women’s Soccer Team …
I had the good fortune to go to Brazil just a few years ago and I got to meet the professional women’s soccer team. It was a real treat for me as I knew very little about women’s soccer, especially in a foreign country.
The President of the professional women’s club was a gentleman I was introduced to by a mutual friend. His name was Romeo and he could speak English so it made it very nice for me to have him with me. They speak Portuguese in Brazil, which is a very hard language to understand.
Romeo took me to the small village where all the team lived in a large house at the top of this very steep hill. These girls were in their twenties for the most part and were very dedicated athletes. They lived together while the soccer season was going on. They practiced soccer everyday. They were one of the best teams in the world.
I went to one of their practices and showed them PowerCleatz and to my surprise, none of them wanted to even try the product as they thought they were professionals and had mastered kicking the soccer ball with their certain shoes and didn’t want anything on the top of their foot as they thought it may effect their game in a negative way. However the President of the club told his male coach to try it out and he did and he loved it. He was striking the ball very hard against a wall at the far end of the practice field and was kicking it farther than he ever had before. He also said it gave him better control and made his feet feel as though they were taped.
He encouraged some of the girls to try it and finally they did and they loved it. There were three that would not even put it on and Romeo got angry at them. I told him not to pressure them into trying it but wait until the big game that was coming up that week-end in Sao Paulo where they were playing for the National Championship. That was the first big professional soccer game I had ever attended and it was very thrilling to see the team, with the exception of three who wouldn’t wear PowerCleatz, all the rest of the team were wearing the product. They won the game and all three goals were scored with PowerCleatz. The team was ecstatic and they all wanted to keep the PowerCleatz, but I had another team I was going to let try it in Mexico in a few weeks so I had to get them all back. Some of the girls actually cried and I promised to send them all a pair when I got back home.
The President of the National champions was very impressed and wants to help us introduce it throughout South America. Anyone who tries PowerCleatz will love them. Plus they may keep you from getting a career ending injury, as the bones on the top of the foot are very easily fractured if stepped on by an opponent.
